The actual frame divider lines can be altered to suit your page style. Some of these settings may not work in all browsers though. In that case it will revert to using a default setting.

Without any alterations, a divider is a grey 3 pixels thick border line. The thickness of the border can be set by using the BORDER property in the FRAMESET tag.

<frameset cols="200,*" border="15">

<frame src="page2.html">

This example shows how to do a much thicker border of 15. To eliminate the border or make it invisible, set the BORDER value to 0.

The default color on the frames border is a dull grey. This can be changed to a preferred color using a hex number and the BORDERCOLOR property in the FRAMESET tag.

<html>
<head>
<title> Master Page </title>
</head>
<frameset cols="200,*" border="15" bordercolor="#ff0000">
<frame src="page1.html">
<frame src="page2.html">
</frameset>
</html>

The example shows the hex number for red. Using the color chart on THIS PAGE, you can insert the hex number for your choice of color.

As default, the visitor is able to resize the frame borders using their mouse control. Using the noresize property in the FRAME SRC tag cancels this ability.

<html>
<head>
<title> Master Page </title>
</head>
<frameset cols="200,*" border="15">
<frame src="page1.html" noresize>
<frame src="page2.html">
</frameset>
</html>

NORESIZE is a property on its own. It does not have values associated with it. It can be placed in either of the FRAME SRC tags and still work. It will affect that specific area and any joining areas to it.
